Judy grew up at John Grier home. At the age of 13, she was supported by an anonymous trustee who read her impertinent paper to enter the high school. Judy gave him a private pet name as Daddy Long Legs. He asked Judy to write him letters monthly telling of the progress in the studies and the details of her life.
Judy dreamed to become a writer someday. Together with Sallie, Julia and Uncle Jervis, Judy led a happy life in high school. On the celebration party of the 50th anniversary of Lincoln Memorial High School, Judy made acquaintance with Jimmie McBride who had affection towards her. Uncle Jervis gave Judy assistance whenever she needed and rendered his tenderness to her a lot. However, Judy inferior about herself because of being a founding. Will Judy overcome the bewilderment and find her own happiness?

By that time, Mr. Griggs rushed to tell Judy that Daddy Long Legs was on the brisk of illness. Mr. Griggs took Judy to Daddy Long Legs' mansion in New York.
The fact disclosed finally, Daddy Long Legs was Uncle Jervis who show his concerns for Judy all the time. Both of them expressed their affections to each other then. After Uncle Jervis recovered from illness, Judy and Uncle Jervis got married and lived happily ever after!
